Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art is based on the original collection of the former Academy of Arts Director Zurab Tsereteli. Today the museum boasts over 1,500 works of 20th century European art covering all the major schools; avant-garde, constructivism, futurism, cubism, realism etc and featuring works by many of this century's major Russian and European artists, including Chagall, Goncharova, Kandinsky, Malevich, Picasso, Shemiakin, Kustodiyev, Petrov-Vodkin, Popova and Konchalovsky amongst others. The museum features regular temporary exhibitions and, along with the new Tretyakov Gallery, is a must-see for all lovers of modern art.
