Darwin Museum

The Darwin Natural History Museum explores the variety and complexity of nature, theories of evolution and explanations of current ecological crisis through an extensive series of over 5,000 exhibits covering all three floors of the museum building. Visitors shouldn't miss the Era of the Dinosaurs section of the museum, with functioning small-scale models of the enormous beasts with authentic sounds to match!
Children will also enjoy the exhibitions charting human evolution from the prehistoric swamps of the planet to the complexities of the modern human brain and anatomy. The exhibits are fresh and imaginative with a strong inter-active component, making the Darwin one of Moscow's more interesting and better-organized museums. Visitors can also see the traditional range of stuffed animals, birds and fish and rare, delicately preserved insect and butterfly specimens. The museum hosts regular temporary exhibitions and organizes lectures and themed excursions for private parties and school children.
